Volunteer Services
Volunteers are the hearbeat of SOC. They touch the lives of so many - staff and clients, alike. In the last year alone, volunteers of all ages provided over 52,000 hours of service to area seniors by generously sharing their talents in a variety of ways. Volunteer with SOC and share your talents! Whatever they are, we can find a place for another helping hand. Sign up online.

Meals on Wheels
Volunteers from all walks of life come together to give back to our community by delivering Meals on Wheels to our homebound seniors. These caring volunteers deliver not just a hot meal, but a much appreciated smile and friendly visit.

It seems like such a simple task, but to our shut-in seniors, it is so much more. For many, it's the human touch that affects them the most.

In one recent year alone, almost 21,000 meals were delivered. Volunteers are needed each weekday between 10:30 a.m. and noon.

Escort driving
Being an escort driver is a great way to meet new people and give back to the community. Our seniors often need rides to the doctor when other transportation becomes difficult or unavailable. There are no regular hours and you can give as much or as little time as you have.

Office and clerical work
Are you looking for meaningful volunteer work in a friendly environment? SOC volunteers assist the staff in a variety of roles - data entry, answering phones, assembling documents, and assisting with our loan closet inventory among other things.

Friendly visits and phone calls
Are you one of those special people who enjoy friendly chats with neighbors? Share your time with our seniors in need of caring contact. Sometimes, our volunteers are the only outside contact our seniors have all day. And it's so appreciated!

Yard work
Your helping hands are always appreciated by seniors who are unable to do much of their yard work themselves. If you are handy out in the yard, SOC's area seniors could use your help.

SOC hosts many regular programs and special events throughout the year. Most programs and events present numerous opportunities for volunteers with different skills and interests to give back to their community.
